Julie is a parent and teacher from Scottsdale who notices that “appropriate funding” is a frequent topic in the media. When is enough, enough? Julie answers that question with a couple questions of her own. Is it appropriate to have 35, 40, 45 kids in a classroom? Is it appropriate that those teachers are held accountable for success in learning when they’re already doomed by the number of students they’re held accountable for? Is it appropriate that we lower our standards in an attempt to attract professionals into this vocation? Julie wants the state to do what’s best for future generations of students and appropriately fund public schools.
