Rachel showed up to testify at the community budget hearing in Phoenix with her twin 9 year-old children. She had to leave the teaching profession after she had her children because it wasn’t cost effective for her teach. It would have cost her more money to be a teacher. But she shows up at her kids’ school everyday, and she sees what’s happening in the classroom. She’s fed up with a governor that gives tax credits to airlines while proposing an $8 a week raise for teachers. She loves Arizona, but she doesn’t believe we can attract businesses to this state until we stop giving away tax credits and instead focus on having a premiere education system.
